wicklow waterfront users open day
All of the active water based clubs and leisure organisations based around the waterfront of Wicklow Harbour have recently joined forces to run an Open Day on Sunday 3rd May between 1 and 5pm to showcase their activities and hopefully entice interested members of the public to join up. The event will be centred in the environs of Wicklow Sailing Club and the RNLI Station at the East Pier.
Clubs will be offering tryouts on boats for sailing, rowing, angling and information will also be available in the clubhouse on the core activities of all of the organisations. Wicklow Rowing Club, Wicklow Swimming Club, Wicklow Sub Aqua Club, Wicklow Bay Sea Anglers, Wicklow Cliff and Coastguard Rescue, Wicklow Sea Scouts, Wicklow RNLI, Birdwatch Ireland and Wicklow Sailing Club will all be in attendance.
Anyone wishing to try out on the boats must prebook - contact Charlie Kavanagh on 087 2394379 or email info@wicklowsailingclub.com - for anyone wishing to join as a Senior or Family member, there will be a special discount of 50% off the Entry Fee (€300 payble over 2 years).
All tryouts are free of charge but you are advised to come suitably attired and children under 10 might not be allowed out on the sailing boats. All persons participating in the Open Day do so at their own risk and the Skippers ruling is final in relation to all matters of safety.
