Hi folks

Surprise, surprise we are back in the reporting mood after a long absence. Our apologies to all of you who kept requesting up-dates. The intention is, over the next two months, to bring our web reports up to date.

Thanks to our friend Michael Easton, in Australia, report 44 is now available at www.patandolivia.com

Some of the contents of the report describe how I was blooded into a local family during a pig killing ceremony in the remote Bank’s Island in Vanuatu in the South Pacific, my diving to a depth of 45 metres on the WW11 ship the President Coolidge and how we assisted another yacht in the Coral Sea when they lost their rudder.

The following is a paragraph contained in the report.

“An even more emotional event, a few days later, was when Olivia & I with Jimmy & Rita were finally leaving the area. Chief Godfrey & his family gave the four of us a going away traditional lunch in the village during which we noticed that Godfrey was very subdued. Back on the boat as dusk was falling Godfrey came paddling out in his dug out canoe. As soon as he came aboard he and I began crying uncontrollably as the realisation of the fact that we most likely would never see each other again dawned on us. Olivia did her utmost in trying to console us. I will never forget the occasion.”

Finally, on Wednesday 12th March at 8pm in Howth yacht Club, in aid of the Hospice, we are giving a talk and slide show, together with the showing of a 30 minute DVD we made in Vanuatu, covering our adventures from Australia to Singapore by way of New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Indonesia during which we encountered Crocodiles, Komodo Dragons and Orangutans. ALL WELCOME, PLEASE PASS THE WORD.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Pat & Olivia, s/y ALDEBARAN
