Boat Park Protocol
1. No boat can be put in the boat park without the permission of the Rear Commodore Sail (R C Sail), Boat Park manager, or his/her nominee, eg Junior Training Organiser. A charge of €10 per week will apply to any Juniors’ dinghies left in the boat park without permission, and €20 per week to any Seniors’ dinghies.
2. A completed application form and the required seasonal fee must be furnished to the Boat Park manager before a boat can be put in the boat park. All boats, cruiser, RIB or dinghy, must be fully insured for Third Party damage and the Boat Park Booking Form Indemnity to this effect must be signed by a responsible adult (owner/parent/guardian).
3. Each Dinghy will display on its transom the number or letter allocated to it by the Boat Park manager. No dinghy may be stored in the Boat Park without displaying its allocated identification number/letter.
4. A specific place in the Boat Park will be allocated to each boat. Once allocated each boat shall only be kept in its allocated place and that place shall be kept clean, tidy and free from obstructions by the owner.
5. Each Dinghy must be removed from the Boat Park at least one day before Cruiser Lift-In and Lift-Out or as required for other events (i.e. Round Ireland/ organised regattas). See 1 above re penalties.
6. The Boat Park manager is authorised to remove from the Boat Park a boat whose owner is not co-operating with the club, eg boat owner not paying required fee or not utilising it for sailing. No responsibility shall accrue to Wicklow Sailing Club in this regard.
7. Any spillages of oil/fuel/paint/antifouling etc shall immediately be cleaned/ removed thoroughly.
8. Owners shall comply with the requirements of the Club/Boat Park manager and dinghy owners may be required for special reason or for sailing events to move dinghies temporarily from their allocated place or from the Boat Park.
9. Rescue boats must be returned to their allocated place and secured as may be provided after use. Rescue boats to be washed down prior to coming into the Boatpark and items checklisted.
10. Any damage to or defects in rescue boats and/or equipment must be reported immediately by the user to the Club Boatman, a Flag Officer or a member of the committee. Failure to do so may put lives at risk and will be regarded as a serious omission.
11. Trailers/cradles and props for cruisers must be removed from the Boat Park not later than the day following launching and can not be returned to the dinghy park earlier than the day before lift out. A charge of €20 per week will apply to trailers/cradles left in the Boat Park in contravention of this rule unless specifically authorised by the RC Sail / Boat Park Manager.
12. Save as is necessary for sailing/racing or boat maintenance, the Boat Park is to be kept locked on all occasions
13. Power and water access points will be provided for use. It is the responsibility of the owners and users of these facilities to ensure the safe use of same and to avoid unnecessary wastage as our supply is metered.
Note: The club can not be bound by this protocol, which is issued without prejudice. Owners of boats, and/or the captain of the boat if launched, take full responsibility for the safety and management of their boats.
