In September 2005, our cruiser fleet was devastated by one of the worst North Easterly gales to hit during our sailing season, resulting in 4 boats coming off their moorings in the inclement conditions.
Brian Malone/Richard Nairns boat "Calypso" took a formidable battering on its mooring but could not withstand the sheer force of nature and eventually came ashore, necessitating being craned off the beach, as were the 3 others.
