Hi Lynn,
Just a quick note to wish you
and all the team all the very best for the upcoming Round
Ireland. It seems like only yesterday we were leaving work this
very Thursday and heading to Wicklow for the start of the 2008
race. Which for us is to be remembered forever not only for the
unbelievably wild weather we had, but also as we got engaged as
we crossed the finish line.
Two years on, we are now very
happily married and although unfortunately not participating in
this years race; we are at least still racing together (we're
off the race J24's in Lough Ree this weekend.)
The 2008 race gave us fantastic
memories which we will carry with us for life and my engagement
ring, after being very well hidden in the bowels of the boat,
was carried all the way round. Shortly after the race I got
it engraved on the inside with ''Round Irl 2008'' in memory. We
had intended on spending the weekend of the 2010 start in
Wicklow to soak up the atmosphere, but unfortunately another
regatta clashes so we cant make it.
Please pass on all our very
best wished to all the teams of excellent volunteers and of
course our best of luck to all the competitors (although I am a
little jealous that they will be getting nicer weather than we
got).
Best regards,
Pete & Emma Eagleson (nee
